My beauty philosophy is… If you feel good on the inside, you look great on the outside. Nutrition plays a big part, and I try to avoid food that’s not organic or that is full of preservatives. I drink as much water as I can and think about what I’m putting on my hair and skin.
The skincare products I can’t live without are… Dermalogica Skin Perfect Primer SPF 30, and MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Gold Deposit. The primer brightens my skin and feels divine when I put it on. It helps my makeup last all day. It has a slight tint, which is great as I don’t like a lot of makeup – I just add a bit of MAC Studio Fix Powder.
My haircare secret is… Don’t wash your hair too much. So many people believe they must shampoo their hair every day. However, hair only gets oily because your scalp is working overtime to put oils back. If you need to wet your hair every day, just give it a rinse. If you have a fringe, put your hair in a ponytail and wash just the fringe with a pea-sized blob of shampoo, then blow wave as normal. The best thing you can do for your hair is use the right shampoo. Pureology is my favourite!
The must-have products in my makeup bag are… I love lip gloss and at any time would have five or six shades. My favourite at the moment is Butter London’s Snog Lippy Gloss. The other things I carry are my Aurora Alchemy Goddess Oils.
My favourite beauty treat is… Regular visits to Lynda Davenport at Reab in Auckland’s Grey Lynn; her company is called Facial Radiance and I’ve been going for about five years.
